Africa-the last frontier in the global economy-is at a crossroads, and we are seeing unparalleled economic growth happening all over the continent. With 1.3 billion people on the continent, there is an ever-growing need to develop public service infrastructure, housing, and formal agriculture. It’s a vast and varied continent made up of more than 50 countries, each with its own language, culture and legal system, but the single commonality is the need to meet the demands of its citizens. Zedliner Global is poised to meet this challenge, with the ethos that Africa’s development potential lies in the hands of Africans themselves.

We do not believe in aid and short-term quick fixes; rather we seek to implement long-term solutions with a transformative approach that will help developing countries create the capacity needed to provide a sustainable solution to their problems.

An example of this is our vision of implementing Africa’s first commercial truck and agricultural tractor brand. With our subsidiary Zedliner Motor Corporation, we intend to disrupt the current supply chain of these types of vehicles in Africa. Our business model works on a supply chain that is almost completely based in Africa-designs are customized specifically to suit the continent’s vast landscapes, and we are adamant that the vehicles will be manufactured and assembled locally. The result is access to a quality customized vehicle that meets the particular needs of Africans at a cost that is around 35% less than current options.

The impact this will have on local business and national economies is immense. We expect our tractors to contribute to an increase in the mechanization of agriculture all over the continent, resulting in increased efficiency and lower costs for the agricultural sector.  In this way, Africans will be empowered to produce more for less and help to contribute to the economic growth of nations all over the continent.

“At our core, we believe that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”

Zedliner Global’s focus lies in promoting human development and rural development in order to build local economies and empower women and the most vulnerable in society, all the while adhering to the highest professional and ethical standards. We believe that this approach will improve the quality of life and create real prosperity for all Africans.

What We Do

Zedliner Global use technologies such as blockchain and smart contracts to solve the problems Africans face. We collaborate with governments, organizations and foundations, working across cultures, industries and countries. We recognize that Africa’s biggest challenges cannot be solved by governments alone, we narrow the gap between the people and technologies. We deliver viable business strategies, that create long-term value for entire systems, populations and countries.

Africa’s long-term development strategy is articulated in two extremely important development agendas signed by African countries in 2015. The first agenda was the Global 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)s which focuses on “leave no one behind” as countries develop, and the second one is the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which sets out a development blue print for the “Africa we want”. Individual African countries have adopted their own agendas that support and are in line with the two agendas developed at a continental level.

This long term plan aligns to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and focuses on three overarching objectives:

  • Infrastructure development
  • Rural development
  • Human development

We intend to help African nations achieve their goals of reducing poverty, increasing rural development and raising the standard of living for all Africans-but particularly society’s most vulnerable. This can only be achieved by empowering the people with the tools needed to boost economic prosperity and lift themselves out of poverty. Zedliner Global works alongside African Governments to increase their capacity and accelerate the implementation of these goals and policies, with the biggest hurdle being access to affordable finance for all Africans.

Our Mission

Our mission at Zedliner Global is to support hundreds of millions of people all over Africa in building a strong financial identity through financial inclusion. Studies have shown that financial inclusion is the key driver for improving the livelihoods of low-income families, as it enables them to participate in the formal economy. The results are a significant reduction in poverty rates and an increase in the economic growth of the country.

“In the next 15 years, digital banking will give the poor more control over their assets and help them transform their lives”

-Bill Gates

Our model eliminates the need for physical assets to be pledged as collateral. We accomplish this by building financial identities and establishing formal financial credit histories that rate a person’s credit-worthiness based on their actions. We leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence to quantify the credit-worthiness of individuals, and our algorithm establishes a rating based on a citizen’s track record. This rating is fluid, as it is based on measurable factors against dynamic performance criteria, taking into account such factors as return on investment, efficiency, and quality of output, rather than just physical assets such as land.

Providing low-income Africans with access to credit is essential to unlocking long-term sustainable gains in productivity and incomes. Without access to credit, citizens are often unable to purchase or rent the tools that would increase efficiency and reduce labour costs. Additionally, they may not be able to afford the training services needed to maximize output. Supplying Africans with access to formal credit and establishing financial identity through inclusion will be major drivers for economic growth across the continent. Innovative digital solutions are key to developing the financial inclusion that will empower Africans to become entrepreneurs. Through time this will give them the opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty and create resilience against unforeseen emergencies such as weather shocks.

Without inclusive financial systems, poor people must rely on their own limited savings to invest in their education or become entrepreneurs-and small enterprises must fall back on their limited earnings to pursue promising growth opportunities. This situation perpetuates both income inequality and slower economic growth.

Zedliner Global is poised to meet this challenge head-on by providing innovative solutions that leverage proven technologies in order to provide Africans with the opportunity to participate fully in the formal economy.

“Our mission is to give African’s the opportunity to take control of their own destinies and thrive in the 21st century.”

Harnessing our collective strengths and abilities will result in collaborative innovation that is fundamental in improving business outcomes.
