Prestige Motors Limited has set up a vehicle assembl y plant in Lusaka aimed at reducing the cost of production an d transportation i n Zambi a’s k e y e c o – nomic industries. Company managing director Donovan Gray said in an interview that the establishment of an assembly plant for vehicles and o t her e q u ipmen t wa s necessitated by high production and transportation costs in sectors such as agriculture and mining.

The President is pleased with the outcome of the meeting particularly with the unanimous voice with which the groups have spoken regarding the way forward on the relationships between and among the different interest groups operating at the former mines dumps on the copperbelt.

Zambia is the one of the few countries in the world that is endowed with rich mineral deposits. It also happens to be one of the world’s top copper and cobalt producers. In addition, it is Africa’s second-biggest copper producer.
